ArtsBuild supports the arts community with shared services that address different needs across our local arts sector for resources and services such as legal assistance, human resources, healthcare, back office, and other training and tools. ArtsBuild currently facilitates these services for our Community Arts Partners, the recipients of our Mission Support grants.

Circumstances due to the COVID-19 pandemic have impacted the arts sector and in some cases have placed strain on the administrative and operational capacity of our local arts organizations, increasing a need for access to services and resources like these. Proudly, most of the vendors we have chosen to work with to provide these shared services are local minority or women-owned businesses.

Arts Forward, a cohort of diverse arts organizations in Chattanooga, is a partner with ArtsBuild to tackle the various challenges we face in the arts sector and create opportunities for growth. We work together to identify needs and solutions so that arts organizations, especially small and mid-size organizations, can be efficient and successful. The shared services provided are the result of surveys and conversations with ArtsBuild’s Community Arts Partners and the Arts Forward cohort during the summer and fall of 2020. We are grateful for the Benwood Foundation, Lyndhurst Foundation, Footprint Foundation, the Community Foundation of Greater Chattanooga, and our ArtsBuild donors for supporting this work.
