OUR WORK

At ArtsBuild we work each day towards building a stronger community through the arts with our investments and focus in three main areas – arts access, arts education and arts leadership. Here are just a few examples:

  • Twenty local arts organizations received annual Mission Support grants this year.
  • Community Cultural Connections grants have been awarded to support more than 150 unique arts programs, events and projects across Hamilton County since 2012.
  • Our volunteer grants review panel takes a serious look at what arts organizations do to create more access and participation in their programs.
  • Our Imagine! arts education initiative is one-of-a-kind and very popular with public school teachers. Last year the program served almost 14,000 students.
  • More than 400 alumni have been through the Holmberg Arts Leadership Institute, many of whom now participate in the community as knowledgeable, passionate and articulate advocates and leaders for the arts.

Through all of our endeavors, ArtsBuild is committed to the vision of more arts in more places for more people. It is clear that the arts are more essential than ever to learning, our economy, social impact, healing, and overall enrichment of our lives. ArtsBuild has been committed to supporting the arts in Chattanooga and Hamilton County for more than 50 years. With the cooperation, generosity and talent of everyone in Chattanooga, ArtsBuild is committed to building a stronger community through the arts for the next 50 years.

Upcoming Events

ArtsBuild supports the arts community with shared services that address different needs across our local arts sector for resources and services such as legal assistance, human resources, healthcare, back office, and other training and tools. ArtsBuild currently facilitates these services for our Community Arts Partners, the recipients of our Mission Support grants. However, our shared services workshops are open to all community members.

Friday, January 19, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. - Enneagram for Teams
Join us at ArtsBuild where Shelley Prevost will facilitate Enneagram for Teams! Knowing yourself is one of the basic commandments of living a happy and robust life. But the elusive job of self-knowledge is often left to indiscriminate self-help books or lengthy therapies. Even when we can commit to the process, we’re met with the double whammy of a culture that champions distraction and busy-ness to keep us spinning in turmoil. It's far from the calm and considered self-knowledge we crave. We want deeper knowing—both of ourselves and those we work closely with—but we’re afraid of what we’ll discover and don’t always know what to do with it.  The Enneagram is a system for deepening your self-knowledge and building empathy for others. It helps you understand your personality structure, while bringing to light unconscious blindspots and a personalized pathway for growth.  Please register in advance.
