A 10-week arts internship program for emerging arts professionals

Investing in Emerging Arts Professionals

The Opportunity Fellows program places talented emerging professionals in meaningful, paid internships within local arts and culture organizations, creating a pipeline of diverse arts administrators and sector leaders while retaining bright young professionals in the Chattanooga market. 

Select organizations provide the fellows with a progressive workforce development experience in our vibrant local arts and culture sector, which contributes almost $200 million to our local economy and employs more than 3,000 people. Fellows receive in-person work opportunities and training, as well as assistance in creating a summary report of their experience. Through the program, young professionals gain experience in arts administration, gallery management, community engagement, and more.

Gain hands-on experience, workforce development and digital literacy training, and build a professional network within the local arts industry.

Compensation and Hours

Spring Program: Fellows will receive $17.50 per hour for up to 35 hours per week throughout the 10-week program duration.

Summer Program: Fellows will receive a $1,500 stipend ($17.50 hour for 10 hours per week) for the entire 10-week program.

Art120, Barking Legs Theater, Splash Youth Arts Workshop, and Stove Works all agree to provide their selected intern a progressive educational experience, through direct personal contact hours or through a training program, and to aid the intern in developing a summary report of his/her/their experience.
