PERISCOPE CHA 2023–2024

We are proud to continue highlighting the success of Courtney Cox and her business, Scenic City Stitches, which has grown significantly since her Periscope Pitch Competition win in Year 1. Her flagship event, the Fiber Arts Festival, has now become an annual fixture and is set to return February 28–March 1, 2026. In addition to this major event, Courtney has also organized smaller gatherings, such as the Scenic Stitches Spectacle held on September 25, 2025.
Throughout her journey, Courtney has consistently credited the Periscope program with equipping her to grow and sustain her business. Since completing the program, she has secured an Arts and Business Council (ABC) fiduciary sponsorship, partnered with Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union (TVFCU), and participated in the River City Emerging Producers program — all relationships and opportunities that stemmed directly from her time in Periscope.
Courtney has also shared that the $5,000 she received from the Pitch Competition was instrumental in launching the inaugural Fiber Arts Festival. Most recently, at the Scenic Stitches Spectacle, she told staff that her business is on track to become a six-figure enterprise — a powerful testament to the impact of the Periscope program.
Reflecting on her Periscope experience Courtney shared:
“I’m so thankful to have done the Periscope program. My background as an artist was an asset that needed focusing through an entrepreneurial lens. Through impactful speakers, valuable relationships, and exposure to new concepts, the Periscope program helped me find the pieces I was missing when it came to running a business. Before the first anniversary of completing the program, I successfully launched the business idea I pitched and my business is thriving.“ —Courtney Cox, Scenic City Stitches
