ArtsBuild is excited to announce the launch of a Community Performing Arts Center Feasibility Study—an important first step in exploring the need, potential, and impact of a new or improved performing arts space in Chattanooga.

This study comes in response to years of feedback from artists, arts organizations, and audiences who have voiced challenges related to access, affordability, and availability of performance venues in our city. As Chattanooga’s creative community continues to grow, so does the need for high-quality, inclusive, and flexible spaces where the performing arts can thrive.

The feasibility study, led by a team of national consultants in partnership with local stakeholders, is assessing current and projected demand for performance space, evaluating potential sites, analyzing financial models, and gathering input from a wide range of community voices. The goal is not just to understand what kind of space is needed—but how such a space can serve the entire community equitably and sustainably.

The study will continue over the next several months, with public input sessions, surveys, and meetings with arts groups, city leaders, funders, and residents. Final recommendations are expected in 2026.
