The Arts, Education & Ideas (AE&I) Series is a premier professional development collaboration between ArtsBuild, Chattanooga Theatre Centre, Hamilton County Schools, and the Arts-Based Collaborative at UTC. We provide a continuous, year-long arc of support for educators through three core components.
SUMMER
Summit: July 27–29
Our flagship intensive focusing on the Concept-Based Curriculum and Inquiry model. Teachers learn to use the arts as a vehicle for transferable ideas, helping students build deep understanding in an age of information overload.

QUARTERLY
Fellows Cohort
A dedicated year-long community of practice. Over three quarterly sessions hosted at local arts partner locations, Fellows will:
- Connect & Collaborate: Hold space with growth-oriented peers to share real-world classroom and community strategies.
- Build Exemplary Lessons: Co-create high-impact, concept-based arts integration lessons.
- Publish & Lead: Share model lessons district-wide through the UTC Open Educational Resource (OER) Library to inspire educators across our region.
2026 Cohort Meeting Dates:
Session 1: September 9th 2026 at ArtsBuild
Session 2: January 13th 2027 at Chatt Theatre Centre
Session 3: April 14th 2027 at Arts-Based Collaborative at UTC
WINTER
Studio Sessions
Specialized one-day workshops designed for deep-dives into specific art forms, offering a mid-year creative reset and practical integration strategies.
