Through its grant-making to thousands of nonprofits each year, the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) promotes opportunities for people in communities across America to experience the arts and exercise their creativity.

In the second major grant announcement of fiscal year 2015, the NEA will make a $10,000 award to ArtsBuild to support a consultant for its Community Cultural Connections Grant program. The NEA will make 1,023 awards totaling $74.3 million nationwide in this funding round.

NEA Chairman Jane Chu said, "The NEA is committed to advancing learning, fueling creativity, and celebrating the arts in cities and towns across the United States. Funding these new projects like the one from ArtsBuild represents an investment in both local communities and our nation's creative vitality."

"ArtsBuild is honored to receive this NEA grant to support our Community Cultural Connections (CCC) initiative," said ArtsBuild President Dan Bowers. "Since 2012, the CCC program has distributed $120,000 to a total of 45 organizations in Hamilton County. These projects serve an important role in strengthening underserved areas in our community through arts and culture."

The NEA grant will allow ArtsBuild to contract with consultant Shannon Dixon to assist in developing application guidelines and implementing assessment tools for its Community Cultural Connections program. The CCC grants fund grassroots, small grant projects that make arts and culture accessible to underserved populations in Hamilton County. Organizations that have  received CCC grant recipients in the past include nonprofit community organizations, neighborhood associations, ethnic and cultural organizations, emerging arts organizations, and faith based organizations.
